ales Under 23 Semi Pro team were defeated 2-0 by a strong Poland team in Broughton on Wednesday evening and will be disappointed that two mistakes cost them dear.

On the stroke of half-time the ball was given away in midfield and the Polish countered well with Tadeusz Socha beating Steven Cann at his near post.

Wales were disappointed to go in at the interval down bythe solitary goal, as they had good chances through Marc Williams, Alex Darlington and Rob Williams, but failed to take the chances on all three occasions.

The Poles looked stronger after the break and sealed the three points when Lukasz Hansel scored after a mistake in the six-yard box from Cann.

The Polish team, which contained one full international, all play in the Polish top division, whilst the Welsh side were made up of Principality Welsh Premier League youngsters and Conference players.
